Apostle St. Thomas the disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ traveled far and wide to preach the gospel in the first century. In AD 52, Apostle St. Thomas had anchored at Maliyankara at Kodungallor, and then he baptized and converted lot of Namboothiri families into Christianity. He had done a great deal of miracles at Palayour and again converted so many Brahmin families as the followers of the Christ. "Memana" was one of the famous Namboothiri families who had converted into Christianity in that way.
In the early years of the 3rd centaury, a lot of Christians were emigrated to the central part of Kerala from Palayour. " Kuravilangadu" were their major residing area at that time.
